Die Abwasserbeseitigung Wöllstein-Wörrstadt AöR (AWW) betreibt zur Reinigung der anfallenden Abwässer aus den jeweils angeschlossenen Ortsgemeinden u. a. die Kläranlagen Gau- Bickelheim mit einer Ausbaugröße von 13.000 EW und Wöllstein mit einer Ausbaugröße von 12.000 EW. Die Anlagen wurden als einstufige Belebungsanlagen mit simultaner Schlammstabilisierung konzipiert. Auf der Kläranlage Gau-Bickelheim wird die Verfahrensführung derzeit auf den Betrieb mit einer Schlammfaulungsanlage umgestellt.
