Dans le cadre du projet, il est prévu de réaliser les travaux suivants: renouvellement des voies courantes principales (voie gauche et voie droite) sur une longueur d'environ ± 8.700 m’ avec modernisation des différents composants, comprenant notamment la mise en oeuvre de traverses en béton mono-bloc B 70 W avec fixation élastique des rails, mise en oeuvre de rails UIC60 et , remplacement et nettoyage partiellement du ballast en matériel de haut-fourneau par du ballast en pierre naturelle.
