Algemene informatie De Universiteit Maastricht (UM) staat in binnen- en buitenland bekend om haar unieke onderwijssysteem: het probleemgestuurd onderwijs (PGO). Daarnaast kenmerkt de UM zich door haar sterke internationale oriëntatie. Een groot aantal studenten uit Nederland en het buitenland kiest voor het Maastrichtse onderwijssysteem. De UM is de jongste universiteit van Nederland en telt ruim 23.000 studenten en 5.000 medewerkers. Onderwijs en onderzoek binnen de UM zijn voornamelijk georganiseerd binnen faculteiten en schools.
