Hankinnan kohteena olevat UHF RAIN RFID -tunnisteet on tarkoitettu käytettäväksi teollisen tekstiilihuollon ympäristössä tekstiilien yksilölliseen tunnistamiseen, jäljitettävyyteen ja materiaalivirtojen hallintaan. Tunnisteita käytetään muun muassa työvaatteissa, hoitotekstiileissä, liinavaatteissa sekä muissa pestävissä tekstiileissä niiden koko elinkaaren ajan. Tilaajat hankkivat ommeltavia, paistettavia tai tekstiilirakenteeseen integroitavia UHF RAIN RFID -tunnisteita sekä myös tunnisteita, joilla MRI kuvaus kelpoisuus.
