Die ÖV-Branche, namentlich die Alliance SwissPass, vergibt eine Vertriebspartnerschaft für das Aufladen und die allfällige Erstausgabe der Prepaid Card für den Öffentlichen Verkehr sowie für das Aufladen der Zahlfunktion auf dem SwissPass. Die Karten verfügen über ein JCB-Kartenschema (nur kontaktlos) sowie einen Barcode für die möglichen Ladevorgänge. Der Vertriebspartner muss ein flächendeckendes, zu den ÖV-Verkaufsstellen ergänzendes Netz von bedienten Verkaufsstellen mit Bargeldannahme in möglichst allen Kantonen der Schweiz betreiben.
