Im Zuge des Projektes „C-Roads“ (CRG-3), soll eine Ablösung der analogfunkbasierten ÖV-Beschleunigung für Kraftomnibusse erprobt werden. Anders als im Vorgängerprojekt „LOGIN“ (Lichtsignalanlagen optimal gesteuert im Nahverkehr), in welchem unter der Beteiligung von verschiedenen Forschungspartner ein Proof of Concept der C-ITS-basierten ÖV-Beschleunigung erbracht werden konnte, setzt C-Roads auf produktreife Hardware, die am Markt verfügbar ist.
