Der Vorhabensträger (AG) ist der Märkische Abwasser- und Wasserzweckverband (MAWV). Der Verband sichert die Abwasserver- und entsorgung von 20 Gemeinden südöstlich von Berlin. Das Gebiet teilt sich in ein nördliches und ein südliches Verbandsgebiet. Die Kläranlagen Friedersdorf (nördliches Teilgebiet) und Alt-Schadow (südliches Teilgebiet) des MAWV werden von der Dahme-Nuthe Wasser-, Abwasserbetriebsgesellschaft mbH (DNWAB) betrieben und gewartet.
